Paper snowflakes

The ultimate holiday craft for elementary school children (and grown-ups who are kids at heart)!

How-to:
(1) Fold a square piece sheet of paper into quarters.

(2) Fold it in half again.

(3) And again.   (See diagrams here if you are having trouble visualizing the folds.)

(4) Chop off the end of the shortest side, so that all the edges line up.

(5) Cut a pattern.

(6) Unfold.  Use double-stick tape to affix to window.
