Tree mural

A cheap and easy alternative to hanging art on your wall.

How to:

1) Find the image you want to use and modify it if necessary. For this mural, I downloaded a vector illu
stration of a tree silhouette (istockphoto.com) and adjusted it using Adobe Illustrator.

2) Print image as large as will fit on a 8x11 sheet of paper.

3) Use an opaque projector to project the image onto your wall. The room has to be really dark for this to work, so you need to do this part at night.

4) Use a pencil to trace
the outline of the projected image. Be careful not to jostle the projector... once you bump it, you won't be able to exactly realign the projected silhouette with the parts you've already traced.

5) Paint in!  This can take a long time.  I recommend good company and plentiful alcohol to aid in the process.

Special thanks to Sean for the use of his projector and for helping with this project!
